The Town is committed to keeping the community informed and safe regarding ‘’King tides,’’ which refer to tides that are higher than normal, commonly seen in Florida during the fall. These tides can lead to local ‘’sunny day’’ flooding, which happens even in the absence of rainfall. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) provides forecasts for high tide levels at their Lake Worth tide gauge, helping to predict when king tides are likely to happen. NOAA also indicates specific sea levels that should alert people to potential flooding risks, known as the Action Stage, as well as levels where flooding is expected, referred to as the Flood Stage.

Predicted high tide dates for 2024:

• High tides expected within three (3) inches of Action Stage:

• 09/19 – 09/21/2024.
• 10/16/2024.
• 10/20/2024.
• 11/14/2024.
• 11/17 – 11/18/2024.

• High tides expected within three (3) inches of Flood Stage:

• 10/17 – 10/19/2024.
• 11/15 – 11/16/2024.
