C.A.R.E. Program
Community Action to Reach the Elderly (C.A.R.E.)
The Lantana Police Department began identifying and assessing the needs of the town's growing elderly population and on July 25, 1994 unveiled the "Community Action to Reach the Elderly" Program or "C.A.R.E." Officers are assigned to make visits with the C.A.R.E. clients. The officers also fill out emergency contact forms for the residents in case of emergency. Officers then contact the resident's neighbors and get them involved in watching out for their elderly neighbors.
In addition, the police and fire departments team up and bring together the Care participants at our Annual Thanksgiving Meal.
